What’s the “F” in PEMF?

  • When it comes to therapeutic PEMF devices, the “F” stands for Field
  • Frequency is a parameter, or property of PEMF. It is by definition a measure of the rate of occurrence within a specific time period (as in heartbeats per minute or, pulses per second) Example: “ Extremely low frequency pulsed electromagnetic field designed for antinociception does not affect microvascular responsiveness to the vasodilator acetylcholine.”
  • Wavelength is another parameter or property of PEMF and directly corresponds to the frequency.
